MFS Diversified's first foray in building an aged-care facility has seen the public-listed company win a Queensland Master Builders award.
The group's Villa World brand won in the health facilities over $10 million category for tis Raynbird Place aged-care project at Carseldine, in Brisbane.
Villa World undertook the project for the Domain Aged Care Group, formerly known as Guardian.
"A lot of planning went into the detail, and, as a result, the level of finishes achieved is high,' said Brent Hailey, chief executive of MFS Diversified.
"Also, working as a team with the Domain Aged Care Group, enabled documentation to be updated progressively throughout the construction phase.
"When changes were made on the run due to operational concerns, these were all managed and, despite the impact on the construction programme, the project was delivered on time and within budget."
The facility, which opened last September, has 30 beds, two dining rooms, a residents' kitchenette and a small library.
Raynbird Place was the first of a series of aged care facilities being built by MFS Diversified. Its latest are a 120-bed facility near Calamvale and another 120-bed project at Browns Plains, which is due to open in January.
