Civil work for an integrated housing estate on 5.48ha of land owned by The Sisters of Mercy and worth about $26 million is now under way.
The estate is being developed by MFS Diversified Group featuring a range of Villa World branded product.
The site, just off St Vincent's Rd, will be developed into 75 lots yielding 54 free standing house and land packages and 21 duplexes and triplexes.
Members of the Sisters of Mercy will live in the duplexes and the homes will be sold to the general public.
Most of the lots will have a great aspect over a 1.31ha park, which is one of the key features of the project. The park is centred around absolutely beautiful trees on the St Vincent's Rd frontage.
The Nudgee site is 13km from the Brisbane CBD and near Centro Toombul, Nudgee and Banyo train stations, Brisbane Airport, Eagle Farm Racecourse and recreational facilities.
MFS Diversified chief executive officer Brent Hailey said when the house and land sell, the company will get the housing component and The Sisters of Mercy will get the land component.
He said the subdivision has been approved and construction has started.
"There's not a lot of land left in the area, there's little land available for developments," he said.
"This (project) will help service some of that demand. Any estate in the Nudgee area released over the past couple of years has sold really well.
