CONSTRUCTION has started on another multi-million dollar development in Logan.
Queensland developer Villa World is building a 317-lot residential development adjacent to the Berrinba Wetlands site in Anderson St.
The 43ha estate, called Freshwater, will feature high and lowest homes with three to four bedrooms, ensuite and a double lock-up garage.
Logan City Councillor Graham Able said the $90 million project, along with the council's 80ha Berrinba Wetlands, was a coup for the community.
``Both will be fantastic and provide locals with the opportunity to have extensive parkland they can enjoy literally at their backdoor,'' he said.
``We are particularly pleased a visionary developer like Villa World has seen the potential of Logan.''
Villa World's marketing and sales manager Dean McMahon said the environmental aspects of Freshwater were a major part of the project's appeal.
``A walking and bike path will meander through parklands, there will be two viewing decks overlooking the waterway, shelter with picnic facilities, and a children's play area in the park,'' Mr McMahon said.
``We want to ensure the natural environment is preserved and enhanced as much as possible and we'll be planting more than 45,000 plants and trees.''
Villa World is also planning to upgrade the Wembley Rd and Anderson St intersection.
